Learn to Swim Group Classes
Learn to Swim Level 1
Learn to Swim: Level 1 classes are designed for swimmers from the ages of 5-8, who meet the following criteria:
- Swimmer has experience in and around water and is comfortable in the pool environment
- Swimmer does not need to know how to swim on their own
Learn to Swim: Level 2 classes are designed for our child swimmers who meet the following criteria:
- Blow bubbles, 3 seconds
- Bobbing, 5 times
- Open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged
objects, 2 times - Front glide, 2 body lengths
- Back glide, 2 body lengths
- Back float, 5 seconds
- Roll from front to back, and vice-versa
- Alternating arm and leg action on front, 2 body lengths
- Simultaneous arm and leg action on front, 2 body lengths
- Combined arm and leg actions on front, 2 body lengths
**The instructor will evaluate swimmers during each swim lesson. If an instructor does not find a swimmer to be ready for the Learn to Swim Level that they are registered for, the swimmer may be asked to move to the appropriate group class level*
Learn to Swim Level 3
Learn to Swim: Level 2 classes are designed for our child swimmers who meet the following criteria:
- Fully submerge and hold breath, 10 seconds
- Rotary breathing, 5 times
- Front glide, 2 body lengths
- Float in a face-down position, 10 seconds
- Front float
- Jellyfish float
- Tuck float
- Back glide, 2 body lengths
- Change direction of travel while swimming on front or back
- Combined arm and leg actions on front, 5 body lengths
- Finning arm action on back, 5 body lengths
- Combined arm and leg actions on back, 5 body lengths
**The instructor will evaluate swimmers during each swim lesson. If an instructor does not find a swimmer to be ready for the Learn to Swim Level that they are registered for, the swimmer may be asked to move to the appropriate group class level*
